You want R8? We've got a long-awaited updated on the disc from the artist herself. Find out what Rihanna told NME magazine inside and watch a commercial for the new Aaliyah tribute perfume.
We've got the best Rihanna update of the summer and it's about her LONG-delayed eighth studio album which the industry has dubbed R8 (but there's no way in hell they'll really name it that, right?).
Anyhow...since "American Oxygen" and dropped, we've been waiting and waiting like a Heinz Ketchup commercial.....but nothing ever happened. Here's why.....it's just not done.
“No matter what I post online, within three comments there’s somebody saying, ‘Where is R8?'” she says. “I could post anything. Nothing else matters. They don’t care about anything but that. But it makes me excited, because I can’t wait to give them something great.”
Riri goes only to lay a bit of the delay onto the shoulders of exec producer Kanye West. “We just have to wait to get back in the studio together,” she shares. “His schedule and mine are totally opposite right now, but I think this month we’ll be back in the studio.”
We hope that both Riri and Kanye have calmed down from all the NYFW excitement and will be able to bang out some music....

And heading to the market...
Aaliyah’s mother Diane Haughton and brother Rashad linked with Fragrance company Xyrena for a new perfume named for the deceased singer. “Aaliyah™ by Xyrena. It's the first and only official fragrance dedicated to the Princess of R&B and now there's a new commercial for the scent.
Is the scent authentic? Aaliyah's family thinks so. It was inspired by actual fragrances Aaliyah wore and while it's unisex, it leans more towards the masculine to coincide with her sexy tomboy image.
Aaliyah by Xyrena has base notes of vanilla, sandalwood, amber, and jasmine; middle notes of black pepper, violet and leather; with top notes of mint, lavender and mandarin. It retails for $64 and 5% of the sales price will be donated to The Aaliyah Memorial Fund. Check out the commercial below:
