The Voice 2013 Top 12 Perform: Matthew Schuler Best Of The Night ...

Tonight on NBC’s Season 5 of The Voice (2013) The Top 12 perform, but only ten will move on to next week’s show. We have finally reached the moment on The Voice where there will be no more saves by the coaches. Instead, it is all up to America’s votes. So basically, during this week’s result show, two of the contestants will go home no matter what team they are on.

Let’s recap our favorite performances from tonight’s show!

Team Christina’s Josh Logan performs Michael Jackson’s “Man In The Mirror”

Josh gave an incredible vocal performance of “Man In The Mirror.” He was a lot more subdued than last week’s performance as he showcased less vocal acrobatics and more of his purely raw and soulful tone.

Christina says she loved how Josh showcased “soul and heart.” She specifically states: “I loved the modulation. You did a great job.”

Adam agrees stating that the performance was “great and very tight.”

Cee Lo says, “You continue to impress me. You are one of my favorite vocalists on the show. Tonight’s performance was much improved and a continued success for you.”

Blake says, “that allowed the song to shine and in my opinion, you become a more of an interesting artist when you let the song shine.”

Team Adam James Wolpert performs “Mr. Brightside” by The Killers

James gave one of the best performances last week when he sang “Case of You” so it was definitely going to be a challenge to top that.

Although we have to admit that we didn’t think his performance was as strong as his performance from last week, he still did a pretty good job. He really proved that he fits right into the alternative rock genre.

Adam proclaims, “You came out here and literally turned into a rock star in front of our very eyes.”

Christina says, “I have seen your growth and I commend you for that. You were so fun to watch. You let loose and you did a great job.”

Cee Lo says, “That was such a great performance. It was controlled and you commanded the stage. I saw a legacy of great entertainers that remind me of you.”

Team Christina’s Jacquie Lee performs “Love Is Blindness” by Jack White

Once again 16-year-old Jacquie Lee delivers with her powerful vocals and receives high praise by all the coaches.

Christina says, “You set the stage on fire. You have the ability to take this whole competition. America vote for this girl, she is a force of nature.”

Adam says, “You really continue to impress all of us. That was a great song choice. It is a mature and different direction for you. Your voice cuts through and does that on an amazing amplification. It was pretty beautiful.”

Cee Lo says. “I love the way you make me feel. I just get lost in it. I want to download that version.”

Team Adam’s Tessanne Chin performs “My Kind of Love” by Emeli Sande

Tessanne definitely is the powerhouse vocalist this season. She sings with genuinely pure emotion. Every time she sings, we get the chills!

Adam commends Tessanne for always singing with such emotion and flawlessness. He states: “My mind is just blown. As far as The Voice, you’ve got it in spades that is pretty astounding. It was very emotional, very real and raw.”

Christina says, “That was beautiful. There was a lot of passion in that. From day one, I have always been a fan. Your voice is so amazing and so rich, it feels like you can do anything. In parts, I heard Rihanna, then some Kelly Clarkson, and then I heard Tessanne, you came into you own vocal power. It was really wonderful.”

Team Christina’s Matthew Schuler performs “Hallelujah” by Jeff Buckley

WOW! We were completely blown away by Matthew tonight. He gave the Best Performance of the night with his cover of “Hallelujah.” His flawless vocals moved us to tears. His colorful vocal range has such a tender, yet commanding beauty.

Christina says, “There is something so magical and just the room becomes still, yet then you lift it. What you have is so special and it’s so rare. You are so blessed. I appreciate you and I am very humbled you chose me as your coach.”

Blake agrees calling his performance “magical and powerful.”

Adam states: “You preserved the legacy of that song.”

We couldn’t agree more with all the coaches comments!

Well, that does it for our recap! Who was your favorite performance tonight?! Leave your thoughts below!
